BabelBot is a good fit for automatic translation within one server and for shared conversations across two managed servers. Talksy suits personal translation that follows a subscriber across servers. Both can post translations as the original speaker, with the member's name and avatar in the same channel. Talksy does this by default. BabelBot does it in Replace the original mode, then deletes the original after confirmed delivery. For linked language channels inside one server, both can serve a whole community with one paid plan: Talksy routes and channel groups do not require every member to buy Pro.

Talksy's free plan (August 14, 2026 public docs) includes 100 automatic translations, 100 manual translations, and 50 flag translations per member each month, plus one route capped at about 200 routed messages, and 30 glossary terms. Voting can reset the translation allowance every 12 hours. BabelBot Free includes 2 target languages, 5 custom words, 100 AI translations to start, then 50 AI translations per UTC month. Supported plain text stays unlimited after the AI allowance.

Talksy Pro costs EUR 8.99 per month per subscriber. Personal unlimited translation follows that subscriber. A Pro admin can also enable unlimited routes and channel groups for everyone. BabelBot Pro costs EUR 9.99 per month per server, with a shared AI quota and unlimited supported plain text. See Talksy pricing and BabelBot billing and limits.

For current BabelBot limits, use this page and the plan guide: Free has 2 target languages, Pro 5, and Ultra and Founder Access 10. Replace the original is available on every plan for eligible automatic human text in regular server text channels. Talksy's comparison page, checked September 10, 2026, still shows older BabelBot limits.

Where BabelBot wins

One server plan covers every member

A BabelBot Pro or Ultra plan covers the server. Talksy Pro gives one subscriber unlimited personal translation across servers. A Talksy Pro admin can unlock unlimited routes and glossary terms for everyone, but other members keep their own personal translation limits.

Predictable cost as the server grows

BabelBot Pro costs EUR 9.99 per month for the server. Five personal Talksy Pro subscriptions cost EUR 44.95 per month. Those are different purchases: one Talksy Pro admin can provide shared routes and channel groups for EUR 8.99 per month. Members only need separate Pro subscriptions for their own unlimited personal translation. See Talksy's pricing explanation.

Replies, threads, media, and voice

BabelBot supports replies, threads, and message replacement for automatic chat. In Replace the original mode, BabelBot posts the translation as the original speaker: same name, same avatar, same channel. Then it deletes the source after confirmed delivery. It needs View Channel, Read Message History, Manage Webhooks, and Manage Messages in regular server text channels. Paid plans add supported media translation; Ultra and Founder Access add voice chat translation. See delivery behavior and limits.

Where Talksy wins

Talksy fits people who want their personal Pro subscription to follow them across servers. Same-channel posts as the speaker are the default. Public docs also describe stealth, delete original, channel groups, and a free vote reset every 12 hours. BabelBot offers optional message replacement, while its subscriptions cover one server. Talksy channel groups let members share translated conversations with one Pro admin subscription. See Talksy routes and channel groups.

Which bot should you choose?

Choose BabelBot for these needs

  • You want automatic translation with replies, threads, or translations that appear as the original speaker under one server plan.

  • You want replies or threads first, then linked channels later.

  • You want media translation on paid plans, or live voice on Ultra and Founder Access.

  • You want Founder Access for one server at a time, with transfers available immediately and then once every 90 days. It provides hosted service access while BabelBot operates, subject to the Founder Access terms. It is not a purchase of a frozen software version; features can change under those terms.

Choose Talksy for these needs

  • You translate personally across many servers.

  • You prefer Talksy's default posts as the speaker, stealth controls, or channel groups.

  • You want a personal Pro plan that travels with you, or a 12-hour vote reset on free quota.
