Server overview

Check translation activity, remaining AI allowance, and problems that need your attention.

Overview is the starting page for a server in the dashboard. Use it to check that translation is on, see recent activity, and find settings that need attention.

Open your server

  1. Sign in to the dashboard with Discord.
  2. Select a server where BabelBot is installed and you have Manage Server.
  3. Open Overview in the sidebar.

If the server is missing, check your Discord role and whether you installed BabelBot for the server. Installing it only for your account does not enable automatic server translation.

Turn translation on or off

The Translations switch controls automatic message translation and bridges. Turn it off for a pause. Your settings remain saved, and you can turn it on again later.

Member context menus and slash commands may still work. For a specific channel, use Automatic translation or Channel rules.

Read activity and usage

Plan & usage shows your plan and remaining AI allowance. This is the AI translation usage available on your plan. Supported plain text can continue through BabelBot's in-house translator after that allowance runs out. AI-only languages, custom words, and media need AI allowance.

Translation activity covers the last 30 days of automatic translations, bridges, and flag requests. An empty chart on a new server does not mean setup failed. Post a test sentence and check the actual result in Discord.

After guided setup, the Finish setting up checklist appears for 30 days. It links to your first translation, channel choices, a flag reaction, and linking language channels. Use its close button to hide it when you no longer need it.

Resolve a permission warning

If Overview lists a channel with a permission warning, open that channel's Discord permissions and grant BabelBot the named permissions. If the warning says Remove Timeout, ask a moderator to remove the bot's timeout or wait for it to end.

Then post a new test sentence. The warning clears after BabelBot successfully sends a translation there.
